 What is Yoga asana?

A yoga asana is the embodiment of a physical posture or pose within a yoga practice. These asanas constitute one of the eight limbs of classical yoga, elucidated by the sage Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras.

The primary objective behind engaging in asanas is the cultivation of physical prowess, flexibility, equilibrium, and cognitive concentration.

Yoga offers a diverse spectrum of asanas, each proffering distinctive advantages and influences on both physiological and psychological.

Ranging from dynamic movements to static positions, these postures encompass standing, seated, reclining, inverted, or balance-based configurations.

Examples of common asanas:

Tadasana (Mountain Pose)

Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward-Facing Dog)

Virabhadrasana (Warrior Pose):

Balasana (Child's Pose)

Trikonasana (Triangle Pose)

Savasana (Corpse Pose)

These are just a few examples, and there are numerous other asanas with their own specific benefits.

It's important to practice asanas mindfully, listen to your body's limitations, and seek guidance from a qualified yoga teacher to ensure proper alignment and safety during your Canna Yoga practice.
